Learn to create a large knot wall hanging from start to finish! Embracing the symbolism of the cloud and cross knots, this is a beautiful reminder of the lightness of being to hang in your space or gift to a loved one. You will get all the supplies included in the class, like chunky, premium cotton rope, three shades of cotton yarn, a needle, thread, and a diagram to continue to make more in the future. Learning this skill will open up a world of knot tying and woven cord construction you can adapt to many projects.

Instructor: Lise Silva Gomes is an artist based in Oakland, California (Lise is a Portuguese spelling pronounced exactly like “Lizzie”.) Her artwork and jewelry incorporates fiber techniques that span wrapping, latch hook, punch needle, sewing, tassel-making, weaving and knotting. Her book, Sacred Knots: Create, Adorn, and Transform Through the Art of Knotting, is the culmination of her studies and innovations in the medium of knotting. In addition to fiber work, she teaches workshops, illustrates, writes and speaks on approaches to building a community-grounded creative practice. Lise curates a project that celebrates the legacy of fiber called Wovenutopia and offers creative support through her project Craft & Practice.
