Back by very popular demand! Are you ready to jump into the soothing and satisfying world of needle felting? In this class, you'll explore this beautiful art form to make a delicious (looking) giant sushi from colorful wool roving.
Risa Culbertson joins us to share fun methods of needle felting to create and manipulate shapes using only wool & a felting needle. Together we'll explore techniques for creating larger forms using wool fibers to create depth, dimension and mimic brush strokes.
Instructor: Risa Iwasaki Culbertson is a fiber artist, letterpress machinist, illustrator, and master crafter living in the Bay Area. She creates most of her work from a studio in Berkeley where she also owns and operates her playful letterpress stationery company Papallama. The abundance of Risa’s work is silly and playful which is visually approachable at face value but, there is also a personal story behind each of her quirky creations. She uses the power of play as a vehicle to strengthen connections, replenish one’s energy, problem solve, inspire, and be inspired. Her colorful artwork has deeper meaning but, it is meant for all to enjoy.
