Do you live in fear of a dropped stitch? Worry no more, in this workshop you’ll learn to identify mistakes and fix them with ease. No more ripping back to the beginning. No more worrying about a stitch or two falling off the needle. Fixing mistakes is an important part of every knitting journey! You'll be joined by Emily, our in-house knitting expert, who will be walking us through the foundations of fixing mistakes.

Together we'll cover:

• Reading your work to identify common mistakes

• Fixing dropped stitches

• Laddering down to correct single stitches

For this workshop you’ll need to bring your own supplies (and do a bit of homework).

Supplies from home:

• Homework swatch as outlined below. This will be live stitches still on the needle with your practice yarn still attached.

• Crochet hook (optional but very helpful)

Homework: Using a smooth, light colored yarn knit a swatch with the appropriate size needle for that yarn, as follows:

Cast on 25 stitches. Knit 5 rows. Row 1: K4, P17, K4. Row 2: Knit. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until your piece is ~4” long. Bring it to class just like this, on the needles with yarn still attached.

Instructor: Emily Stauffer is a San Francisco-based yarn lover with a lifetime of crochet & knitting skills, and 10 years of teaching experience. As a pale child, stuck inside with grandma and the great aunts all summer, Emily took to fiber arts like a fish to water. A hook or two needles, it doesn't matter as long as there are lots of colors.
