We've loved this tote design since we first saw it walk through our shop door on a customer. It has been so much fun seeing it crocheted up in our ultra textural Amara Upcycled Linen collection. Our addition of the wide strap adds comfort and there's nothing quite like the drape of linen.

Level: Advanced Beginner Crochet

Finished Measurements: 15" wide x 20" height from bottom edge of tote to top of strap

Materials:

- Amara Upcycled Linen (pictured in Atlantic), find it HERE

- We used 8 x 100g skeins for our particular sizing

- Crochet Hook Size: 8mm

- Sewing needle

Our Modifications:

Body & Strap:

  • We held just a single strand of the Amara yarn, instead of holding double as the pattern calls for with T-shirt yarn
  • Our bag is 20 stitches per row for 20 rows

Strap:

  • Make a slip knot. CH 25

  • Place a SC in the first chain from your hook

  • Continue placing single crochets into every stitch until you reach the end of your row (you should have 25 sts total)

  • To start a new row: turn your work, and without chaining 1, place a single crochet into your first st, BLO

  • Continue sc BLO until you have 4 rows total

  • Fold the strap in half and single crochet both sides together. You should be left with a 25 stitch tube

Finishing:

  • Insert top ends into each open end of the strap tube. Securely sew in the ends.
