We're so thrilled to be taking part in the 2025 Bay Area Yarn Crawl and offering kits for the exclusive yarn crawl patterns! Created by Kira from @kirakdesigns, this pattern is beyond opulent knit up in our Meelam hand-spun pashmina collection.
Designed for the 2025 Bay Area Yarn Crawl make-along, this is a quick and fun project. It's a nice introduction to Hybrid Crochet, aka Tunisian Crochet, which is worked with a long hook. The pattern has a helpful video to get you started.
The pashmina yarn we chose for this pattern is extra special in that it's 100% hand-spun pashmina, the only yarn of its kind—it's warm, soft & highly precious. It takes the carefully shorn fiber of one pashmina goat to spin a single 100 gram skein, and one 50 gram skein takes an artisan one full day to hand-spin. And each skein is dyed using only all natural botanically-sourced natural dyes.
Each kit comes with two skeins of yarn (you have three color combos to choose from) plus your own exclusive code for Kira's step-by-step pattern. You'll just want to have a 5.5mm 10" or longer Tunisian crochet hook on hand! Our sample cowl was knit up by Leigh Ann Parente using this size.
